Who do I notify for address changes or any contact information that may change including ownership changes or closing of the business?

How do I return damaged books?
Notify Kalmbach within 30 days of receipt and request credit or replacement of your merchandise.

Magazine & product returns
How often is credit issued for returned magazines?
Credits are issued weekly on Fridays for magazine returns.

I purchased products through a distributor. Can I return them directly to Kalmbach?
Products purchased from a distributor must be returned to the distributor from which the purchase was made according to that distributor's terms and policies.

How long should I display the magazines?
We suggest that you display two issues of a given magazine, the current issue and one back issue. This way your customers can pick up the back issue they missed last month.

Where do I send the magazine returns and how long do I have to return the magazines?
All returns must be sent to our corporate address only.

US and Canadian retailers may receive credit for unsold magazines for up to 6 months from the cover date, which includes the cover month. For example, the January issue is due back by the end of June as January counts as month one. See your packing slip or invoice for the return schedule. A credit memo will be issued for return magazines. To receive proper credit, complete a Magazine Return form and return only the top three inches of each magazine cover. Unsold copies for dealers outside the US and Canada are non-returnable.

When can I return the annuals?
KPC annuals: Art Jewelry, Bead Dreams, Chic and Easy, Classic Trains Annual, Explore the Universe, Great Model Railroads, Model Railroad Planning, Scale Auto Contest Guide and Great Scale Modeler are returnable up to one year from the cover date. Note: the "display until" date is for the newstands. You should keep the annuals for no more than 10 months.

Distributed annuals: Radio Control Buyer's Guide, RC Touring Cars and RCX: Getting Started in the hobby are all returnable up to six months from the cover date. These annuals should be displayed for at least 4 months.

Can I return my unsold calendars?
Calendars are purchased two ways, with or without the return privilege. Your discount on the calendars is 45% for the return privilege, 50% for non-returnable calendars. Unsold calendars if purchased with the return privilege must be returned by 3/1 of the calendar year. For example the 2004 calendars must be returned by 3/1/04 for credit.

When will the next new product catalog come out?
  • Hobby catalogs are typically available in March and October.

  • Beading/Craft catalogs are typically available in February and July.

    How often are new books released?
    We release new books throughout the year. However, due to the seasonality of the hobby industry, a majority of our new hobby books are released in September through March. New catalogs are available in the spring and fall of the year. Keep in touch with new releases through our newsletter (sign up link here) or by checking the new release section of our website.

    How can I find out who my Credit Specialist is?

    When do I call the Credit department as opposed to the Trade Sales department?
    Feel free to contact us using our generic form and we will forward any credit inquiries to your Credit Specialist to reply.

    How do I apply a credit to my invoice?
    Credits from returns or payments can be automatically applied to your account with your permission. Please contact our Credit department at (800) 558-1544 extension 554 to request this service.

    Customers with credits left unapplied for 60 days will receive a letter detailing the credits that are unapplied. At the same time, you will be asked to contact the Credit department within 30 days to acknowledge where you'd like the credit applied. If no response is received, all credits will be applied at 90 days to the oldest invoice on account.

    Retailers may also request that credits are not automatically applied and can then designate where they would like credits to be applied.
